Since its inception, Q2 Stadium, the home base for the Austin FC, has set out to create unique opportunities for people from all walks of life to be a part of something bigger than just a sporting venue. The stadium is a central location that welcomes all Austinites and visitors to root for the city’s first professional sports team and provides a place for the community to come together and celebrate unity.
Dream Starter is a collaborative effort inspired by Austin FC’s focus on inclusivity through equity, Q2’s mission to build strong and diverse communities, and DivInc’s focus on connecting underrepresented entrepreneurs with the resources they need to build profitable, high-growth companies. Together, we hope to help deserving, amazing Austinites break through barriers and turn their ingenuity into successful, growing businesses.
Winning advantages
The Dream Starter Competition gives underrepresented Austinites a chance to win $100,000 in funds to help jumpstart or accelerate their entrepreneurial venture. What’s more, the winning venture will receive a number of marketing benefits at Q2 Stadium during an upcoming Austin FC regular season MLS match to promote their initiative.
Winner to be announced June 19
We’ve received some amazing submissions and the winner will be announced at Austin FC’s inaugural home match against the San Jose Earthquakes on June 19 at Q2 Stadium. The date of the announcement holds a particular significance; known as Juneteenth, June 19 honors the day in 1865 when word of the Emancipation Proclamation reached Texas. Thus, it serves as a fitting date to commemorate the progress made since 1865 and the work that remains before us.
